About the Gun

The SPC2022 is a compact, polymer-framed, hammer-fired pistol built on the second-generation SIG Pro platform. It uses a conventional double-action/single-action trigger system with a frame-mounted decock lever and retains the familiar SIG control layout. The design features an integrated Picatinny accessory rail, interchangeable grip panels, and a stainless-steel slide. Overall size places it smaller than the full-size SP2022 while remaining a duty-oriented compact rather than a subcompact carry pistol.

Analysis

SIG introduced the SPC2022 as the compact companion to the SP2022, applying the same second-generation updates (Picatinny rail and revised trigger guard) that had been developed for the large French law-enforcement contract. While the full-size SP2022 achieved widespread adoption, the compact version remained a lower-volume offering, primarily serving European agencies and specialized contracts. It continued the Pro series practice of offering a polymer-framed DA/SA alternative to the metal-framed P-series pistols, but in a more concealable package. Because of limited production and minimal U.S. commercial availability, the SPC2022 is one of the less frequently encountered models in the SIG Pro lineup and is of particular interest to collectors seeking a complete set of the series.
