The P229 Legion RXP is a compact double-stack Legion model featuring Legion gray PVD finish on the stainless steel slide and frame, custom G10 grips with Legion medallion, a reduced and contoured beavertail, front slide cocking serrations, aggressive front-strap checkering, short-reset trigger, and a factory optics-ready slide. It is equipped from the factory with a ROMEO1 Pro red dot optic and suppressor-height X-RAY3 day/night sights. It is offered in 9mm in both DA/SA and SAO configurations.

Production began in 2023 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $1,600 – $1,700. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $1,250 – $1,500.

The P229 Legion RXP combines the premium Legion upgrades with a factory-installed ROMEO1 Pro red dot optic and suppressor-height X-RAY3 backup sights to provide a complete optics-equipped package. It retains the compact size and handling of the P229 while incorporating enhanced ergonomics, improved trigger performance, and high-durability Legion gray PVD finish. The availability of both DA/SA and SAO trigger options provides flexibility for different shooter preferences. The added weight of the optic brings the total to approximately 34 oz. This represents SIG Sauer’s current approach to a premium compact pistol with integrated red-dot capability straight from the factory.
