About the Gun

The P227 SAS is the Anti-Snag (dehorned) version of the P227 Carry. It features rounded edges and smoothed contours on the slide and controls for reduced snagging, a 3.9-inch barrel, stainless steel slide on a black hard-coat anodized aluminum alloy frame, and was produced with the Short Reset Trigger (SRT) and SIGLITE night sights.

Limited production from 2014 through 2017.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $1,200–$1,350. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $900 – $1,200.

Analysis

The P227 SAS applied SIG Sauer’s Anti-Snag treatment to the P227 Carry platform to improve comfort and concealability for plainclothes or everyday carry use. The dehorning process, combined with the Short Reset Trigger and compact dimensions, made it more suitable for concealed carry while retaining the 10-round .45 ACP capacity and full-size grip ergonomics. Produced in very limited numbers during the mid-2010s, it represents one of the most specialized carry-oriented variants of the P227 before the model line was discontinued.
