About the Gun

The P226 X-Five Tactical is a tactical-oriented version of the X-Five competition platform featuring a black Nitron finish on the stainless steel slide, a 5-inch match-grade bull barrel with stainless steel barrel weight, and a black hard-coat anodized aluminum alloy frame. It is equipped with SIGLITE night sights and black polymer grips.

Limited production from 2010 through 2015.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $1,800 – $2,200. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $1,400 – $1,900.

Analysis

The P226 X-Five Tactical combined the heavy bull barrel and refined accuracy of the X-Five series with a more practical tactical finish and sighting system. The black Nitron finish provided improved corrosion resistance and a subdued appearance, while the SIGLITE night sights made it more suitable for low-light defensive or duty use compared to the fully adjustable target sights found on standard X-Five competition models. Produced in very limited numbers, primarily in 9mm, it served as a bridge between pure competition pistols and tactical applications within the P226 lineup. This is a rare variant. The combination of Nitron finish, SIGLITE night sights, and tactical configuration makes it distinct from the standard stainless X-Five competition models.
