The P226 X-Five Competition is a high-end Custom Shop competition model featuring a 5-inch match-grade bull barrel, full stainless steel slide and frame, fully adjustable target rear sight with fiber optic front sight, and enhanced trigger work. It was produced in 9 mm and .40 S&W with Hogue rubber grips and extended high-capacity magazines.

MSRP at production was around $1,900 – $2,300. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $1,500 – $2,000.

The P226 X-Five Competition was developed as SIG Sauer’s top-tier competition offering on the P226 platform, emphasizing maximum accuracy and fast handling for IPSC and USPSA-style shooting. The heavy bull barrel, full stainless steel construction, and refined trigger system provided excellent stability and reduced muzzle flip, while the adjustable sights allowed precise zeroing. Produced in limited numbers during the late 2000s to early 2010s in 9mm and .40 S&W, these models represent the most specialized competition variants of the classic P226 before the introduction of the later XFIVE Legion and current P226-XFIVE models.
