About the Gun

The P226 Scorpion models are full-size double-stack Elite-based pistols featuring a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish on the slide and frame. They incorporate the full Elite package of a beavertail frame extension, front slide cocking serrations, and front-strap checkering on the aluminum alloy frame with black hard-coat anodized finish, along with the short-reset trigger and Hogue G10 grips. The standard version has a 4.4-inch barrel, while the Scorpion TB variant is equipped with a 4.9-inch threaded barrel.

Limited production from 2012 through 2015.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $1,250–$1,400. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $950–$1,200.

Analysis

The P226 Scorpion variants combined a tactical Flat Dark Earth finish with the ergonomic improvements of the Elite package on the P226 platform. The standard model offered refined handling in a conventional configuration, while the Scorpion TB added a threaded barrel for suppressor use along with increased length and weight. Both versions were produced in limited numbers during the early-to-mid 2010s in 9mm, as SIG Sauer expanded colored-finish and suppressor-ready options before shifting primary focus to the Legion series. The heavier construction and Elite features provided better recoil control, making the Scorpion group a distinct tactical expression of the P226 platform.
