Analysis

The P226 Legion variants represent SIG Sauer’s premium refinement of the full-size P226 platform. The original non-optics-ready models in .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and 9mm incorporated the full Legion upgrade package with enhanced ergonomics and high-durability finish. Starting in 2023, optics-ready versions in 9mm were introduced in both DA/SA and SAO configurations to meet modern demands for red-dot sight compatibility. The Legion series maintained the locked-breech short-recoil operating system and offered improved handling and corrosion resistance, serving as one of the flagship expressions of the P226 before many standard variants were discontinued.
