Analysis

The P226 Enhanced Elite variants combined the ergonomic upgrades of the standard Elite models with the E2 one-piece grip designed to better fit a wider range of hand sizes. The reduced grip circumference, beavertail, front serrations, improved checkering, and short-reset trigger provided enhanced control and comfort while retaining the locked-breech short-recoil operating system and DA/SA trigger with decock lever. Offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and 357 SIG, these models were produced as a refined option during the late 2000s and early 2010s, appealing to shooters who wanted improved ergonomics on the proven P226 platform before SIG Sauer shifted greater emphasis to the Legion series.
