Analysis

The P226 Elite variants applied ergonomic and trigger refinements to the proven full-size P226 platform. The addition of the beavertail, front serrations, improved checkering, and short-reset trigger enhanced control and follow-up shot speed while retaining the locked-breech short-recoil operating system and DA/SA trigger with decock lever. Offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and 357 SIG with Nitron, two-tone, and stainless finishes, these models represented SIG Sauer’s effort to modernize the P226 during the late 2000s and 2010s before greater emphasis was placed on the Legion series. upkeep.
