Analysis

The P226 DAK variants provided shooters who preferred a consistent double-action-only trigger pull with a P226 platform option that eliminated the need to manage a decocker. The Kellerman trigger system delivered a relatively smooth and predictable pull weight (typically 6–8 pounds) across all shots. Offered in 9 mm, .40 S&W, and 357 SIG, these models were produced primarily during the 2000s and early 2010s as SIG Sauer offered multiple trigger options on the P226 before shifting focus to the Legion and Elite series. The DAK configuration was popular with some law enforcement agencies seeking a simpler manual of arms on a proven double-stack design.
