About the Gun

The 1911 Carry Scorpion is a Commander-sized single-action 1911-style pistol with a stainless-steel frame and slide finished in Flat Dark Earth. It features an integral accessory rail, black controls, Hogue G10 grips (often with an integrated magwell), and low-profile night sights. The design retains classic 1911 single-action controls with grip safety and manual thumb safety. It was produced in both a standard-barrel version and a threaded-barrel version intended for suppressor use.

Analysis

SIG introduced the Scorpion series, including the Carry configuration, to provide a tactical-oriented 1911 option with a distinctive Flat Dark Earth finish and accessory rail. The Commander-length slide on a full-height frame offered a balance of concealability and control, while the threaded-barrel variant expanded utility for users seeking suppressed capability. The model continued SIG’s approach of combining traditional 1911 ergonomics with modern features such as the external extractor and upgraded grips.
