Analysis

Bersa introduced the Thunder 380 Combat Plus in 2016 as the double-stack version of the earlier Thunder 380 Combat. It applied the Combat package (lower-profile slide, rounded trigger guard, smaller beavertail, larger serrations, and rubber wraparound grips) to the existing Thunder 380 Plus high-capacity layout. The result raised capacity while keeping the overall size and weight close to the single-stack Combat. Argentine production offered blued, nickel, and two-tone finishes; the primary U.S. catalog variant has been the matte-black version with olive grips. It has remained in the Thunder 380 series as the high-capacity Combat option and occupies the same used-market role as the standard Thunder 380 Plus—an affordable, reliable .380 Auto DA/SA pistol distinguished mainly by its grip treatment and capacity.
