About the Gun

The M2XI is a full-size, high-capacity, single-action 1911-style pistol with a stainless steel frame and slide and a polymer grip module. It uses a double-stack magazine, an extended beavertail, a flared magwell, and a Picatinny rail on the dust cover. The slide carries lightening cuts, front and rear serrations, and a factory optic cut. Controls follow classic 1911 layout with an ambidextrous thumb safety and grip safety.

Analysis

Bersa USA introduced the M2XI in 2025 as its first double-stack 1911-pattern pistol, built in the company’s Georgia facilities after earlier U.S. production of the single-stack B1911 line. The design follows the 2011 hybrid layout (metal frame with polymer grip module) developed in the 1990s, adapted here for high-capacity 9 mm use with STI/Staccato-pattern magazines. It was positioned as a more accessible alternative to higher-priced double-stack 1911s, carrying competition-oriented features such as a match bull barrel, optic readiness, and a flat trigger while retaining Series 70 safety architecture. Early production covered the two finish options (brushed stainless and black nitride); later coverage noted ongoing refinements such as slide-cut revisions and planned shorter-barrel versions. The M2XI remains a current catalog model and appears on the secondary market at modest discounts from MSRP given its recent introduction.
