Analysis

The Firestorm 380 is the California-roster form of Bersa’s Thunder 380. It shares the alloy-frame DA/SA blowback layout, external hammer, and slide-mounted safety/decock lever of the Thunder 380, but uses a 7-round magazine, rubber wraparound grips, and a rounded trigger guard to meet roster requirements. The Firestorm name was previously used by SGS Importers International for a line of Bersa-pattern pistols (plus Spanish and Philippine models) sold only in the U.S. through about 2011. Those earlier SGS FireStorm guns are a separate brand on the site. The current Firestorm 380 is a later Bersa-catalog California model that continues the name and remains listed by Bersa USA. It appears regularly on the used market as an affordable compact .380 Auto.
