Analysis

Beretta introduced the G-SD at the 2024 SHOT Show with Compact Carry 2 as the full-size half of the PX4 twentieth-year factory package done with Langdon Tactical. G marks Type G decocker-only lockwork; SD here is Super Duty, the heavier rotating barrel fitted to the standard 4-inch full-size slide. Carry-style Type G levers, an oversized magazine release, orange-front / black-rear sights, and a Talon wrap completed the factory spec. The box carried two 17-round magazines and one 20-round magazine. The 2004 full-size Storm had been the polymer rotating-barrel duty gun in F, G, C, and D configurations. G-SD is that frame and slide set up as a Langdon-spec Type G, not a revival of the earlier .45 Auto Special Duty. Langdon Tactical also buys the factory pistol and sells trigger-job, optic-cut, and compensated packages from it; those shop guns are a different product. Factory G-SD pistols are still new enough that used examples are mostly lightly carried guns and sit a step above a plain full-size Storm in value when the box gear is present.
