Analysis

The Compact itself had arrived in 2010 with a black Bruniton slide, the same rotating barrel as the full-size Storm, and an ambidextrous slide stop the full-size gun did not use. Compact Inox kept the same lockwork and Type F lever and changed only the slide to a satin, non-reflective stainless finish. Both 9 mm and .40 S&W were cataloged. Black Compacts were the regular commercial gun. Compact Inox was a smaller two-tone run. U.S. and Italian lists carried it through the same window as full-size Inox, then dropped the stainless Compacts when that finish left the PX4 line. Used examples show up less often than black Compacts and usually bring a small two-tone premium value when the slide is clean.
