Analysis

Beretta fielded the APX in 2017 as a modular polymer striker pistol after the U.S. MHS trials. The A1 refresh in 2022 changed the slide serrations, raised the undercut and beavertail, and added a factory optic cut. The Tactical is the 2023 full-size A1 with a 4.8-inch 1/2-28 barrel, suppressor-height sights, and 21-round magazines. Beretta showed it at SHOT and the NRA show that spring. A flat-dark-earth slide-and-frame pack followed in 2024. The Compact Tactical is the shorter threaded companion. Used guns trade on whether all three extended magazines and the extra backstraps are still with the box.
