Analysis

Beretta added the 96D in 1992 as the .40 S&W companion to the 92D for agencies leaving the revolver. The long DAO pull and bobbed hammer were meant to keep the first shot and every following shot the same. Blue Book closes the commercial row after 1998. U.S. police turn-ins, including Pennsylvania State Police guns, are the usual used examples. Boxed commercial pistols sit above holster-worn issue guns in value.
