Analysis

The 952 is the civilian .30 Luger (7.65 mm Parabellum) version of the 951. Italian rules kept 9 mm out of commercial hands, so Beretta chambered the same lock for the longer .30 Luger case. The first G-series guns left in July 1972. Serials restarted at A00001X in 1973. The last, A07241X, was made in July 1983. The catalog Standard is the 4.5 inch barrel with plastic panels. The Special is the 5.9 inch barrel with wood thumb-rest panels and is a separate model. The slide was cut so a 9 mm barrel would not interchange. Magazines and the plastic panels are the usual missing pieces.
