Analysis

Beretta introduced the American Combat Series in 2024 as a painted run of the 92XI SAO, the frame-safety single-action 92 that had reached the market the year before. The pistol itself is the standard XI: Vertec-style alloy frame, flat SAO trigger, optics cut, and the usual rail. What changes is the finish. A veteran paint shop hand-applies Cerakote in five U.S. uniform patterns — woodland BDU, three-color desert DCU, Multicam, six-color Chocolate Chip, and Vietnam Tiger Stripe. Each gun is painted individually, so two examples of the same pattern are not identical. The series is a commemorative pack, not a new lockwork. Pattern does not change the dates or the value. Boxed guns with both magazines sit at the top of the used value range; a scuffed paint job drops one toward the bottom, because the camo is the point of the gun. A Foreign Combat set in European patterns followed the same idea.
