Analysis

Beretta put the full-size M9A1 frame updates onto the Compact L envelope after the rail-less Compact left the U.S. catalog. Frames are marked Type M9A1 and carry a rail, front- and backstrap checkering, a beveled magazine well, and a reversible magazine release; slides are marked 92FS Compact. Factory code J90C9F10 is the Bruniton 13-round gun. An Inox railed compact reached dealers first, around 2012–2013. Beretta showed the black rail gun at SHOT 2014 and priced it at $745, with shipments that spring. The run lasted into the late 2010s, then the 92X Compact took the compact slot. Used examples trade with ordinary 92FS pistols; boxed guns with both magazines sit at the top of that value range.
