Analysis

The 82B was introduced in 1980 as the single-stack companion to the double-stack 81. There was no unsuffixed 82. The B added the firing-pin block, the shorter extractor, and the grooved straps. The magazine holds nine rounds, and the grip is thinner than the 81 . The 82BB followed in 1982 with extra slide serrations and dot-and-post sights. The safety on the B is a safety only. The decocker arrived with the F. Wood panels from the B fit the BB. They do not fit the later F and FS. Magazines and the wood panels are the usual missing pieces.
