About the Gun

Compact double-stack rotating-barrel pistol with an alloy frame and a short steel slide. The Mini keeps the 8000F’s DA/SA lockwork, exposed hammer, and ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, but the grip frame is shortened. Checkered plastic grips and fixed three-dot sights. The barrel is hard-chromed.

Analysis

Beretta added the Mini Cougar in 1997 as a short-grip 9 mm F gun. Slide, rotating barrel, and magazine well stay in the 8000 pattern; the frame is chopped for a smaller hand and a shorter butt. It is a different cut than the later 8000F L. Italian Mini production ended in the early 2000s with the rest of the early Cougar line. Used Minis are less common than full-size F guns and usually sell a little higher when boxed with the original short magazines.
