Analysis

The 76 is the target gun in the 70 series, introduced in 1971. It uses the taller frame of the 73 and 74, then adds the fixed shroud so the sights do not move with the slide. Production ran through 1985 with the rest of the series. Both grip panel materials were supplied. Plastic is the ordinary gun. Wood is the target fit. The shroud and the sight on it are the tell against a 73 or 74. Magazines and the panels are the usual missing pieces.
