Analysis

The 72 was introduced in 1958 with the rest of the 70 series. It is the Model 71 with two interchangeable barrels, the long one for the range and a short one for carry. The Model 75 is the long-barrel-only companion on the same compact frame. The 73 and 74 use a taller frame. Early production has a crossbolt safety. Around 1970 the series changed to a frame-mounted lever. In the United States the 71 and 72 were sold under the Jaguar name. The line ended in 1985. A complete two-barrel set brings more than a single-barrel 71. The short barrel is the piece that is usually missing.
