Analysis

The 318 is the mid-1930s restyle of the .25 Auto 1919. Beretta kept the barrel, magazine, and lock, and changed the grip frame toward the shape of the 1934. Catalog names in this stretch run 1934, then 318. The slide on most of these guns still says Brevettata, not 318. The model name is the catalog name. The run was short. Serials cluster around 609,000, and the 418 follows with a firing-pin indicator sticking out of the rear of the slide. A 318 has no hole there. Barrel, magazine, and most small parts interchange with the 1919 and the 418. Plastic panels and the magazine are the usual missing pieces.
