About the Gun

Tiny double-action/single-action blowback pocket pistol with an alloy frame, a steel slide, and Beretta’s lever-released tip-up barrel. The trigger guard is forged as part of the frame rather than a separate spring piece. An exposed hammer, a left-side frame safety, and a magazine release set into the left grip sit on checkered plastic panels. Sights are a small fixed blade and a notch milled in the slide. These variants are blued or matte black.

MSRP at production was around $400. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $300–$400.

Analysis

Beretta introduced the 3032 Tomcat in 1996 as a .32 Auto enlargement of the 21A Bobcat during the mid-1990s expansion of concealed-carry laws. The frame is slightly heavier than the Bobcat, and the trigger guard is integral to the forging. Alloy-frame guns developed a well-known tendency for the slide rails to crack under .32 Auto, which is why Inox used a heavier slide and why the later 30X received a stronger frame. Blued finish left the line first; matte black continued into 2013. Inox, stainless, titanium, tritium-sight, Covert, and 30X pistols are separate models. Used standard Tomcats are common. Clean uncracked frames bring the top of the range; cracked examples sell as parts or repair projects.
