About the Gun

Micro-compact double-action/single-action blowback pocket pistol with an alloy frame, a steel slide, and Beretta’s tip-up barrel released by a push button. The trigger guard is integral to the frame. A skeletonized hammer and flat-faced trigger, a frame-mounted thumb safety, and a magazine release at the junction of the trigger guard sit on a slightly larger Bobcat grip wearing Helica-textured polymer or checkered G10 panels. Sights are dovetailed; short-barrel guns use low-profile three-dot irons, threaded guns use taller suppressor-height sights. Finish is matte black or two-tone. Chambering on current variants is .22 LR only.

Analysis

Beretta introduced the 20X as the X-series refresh of the 21A Bobcat after that pistol left the catalog. The same treatment had already been applied to the 3032 as the 30X Tomcat. The original Model 20 of the late 1960s was the first double-action tip-up in the line; the 21A replaced it and ran for about forty years in .22 LR and .25 Auto. The 20X keeps the fixed barrel and open slide but changes the tip-up release from a lever to a button, moves the magazine catch, lightens the trigger with the Trident skeletonized set, and uses a polymer magazine. .22 LR is the only current chambering. Full U.S. shipment of the four named variants—In Case Of Emergency, You're On Your Own, Do It Yourself, and Bug Out Bag—began in 2025. Street prices sit well under list. Used volume is still small; most guns on the market are recent production with little wear.
