The 1911A1 Deluxe 80 is a Government-size 1911-style single-action pistol with a blued steel frame and slide, wrap-around rubber grips with a Thompson medallion, and high-profile three-dot sights. It uses a firing-pin block together with the usual thumb safety and grip safety.

Analysis

Auto-Ordnance introduced the Deluxe as the commercial step-up in its 1911A1 line during the West Hurley years, pairing a blued Government frame with wrap-around rubber grips and high-profile three-dot sights in place of the GI sight picture on the Parkerized and Standard guns. Kahr bought the brand in 1999 and recast that three-grade lineup as newly manufactured pistols. The Deluxe continued as item 1911WGS with the Thompson bullet logo on the slide and the firing-pin block that gives the model its 80 suffix. The configuration stayed in the catalog into the mid-2000s, then left the line as Kahr shifted the 1911 work toward the later matte-black GI-spec 1911BKO and the stainless Thompson Custom. Used Deluxe 80 pistols trade as ordinary shooters; the rubber-grip, three-dot package does not carry a separate collector premium.
