About the Gun

The Armscor-RIA 5.0 ST is a full-size, hammer-fired 9 mm pistol with a two-piece frame, a squared barrel profile, and a slide that rides inside the frame. It has a 5-slot accessory rail, wide front and rear slide serrations, a flat-faced trigger, nylon grips, and a fiber-optic front with an adjustable rear sight. The finish is E100 Cerakote. It is a heavy, low-bore-axis service-size pistol rather than a 1911.

Analysis

The 5.0 ST was Armscor’s first U.S.-made pistol, introduced for 2023 with a patented Ram Valve System and a non-tilting barrel. It is built in the RIA-USA line, not the Philippine 1911 plant. List price at launch was about $999. An optics-ready SP and the later 5.0E followed. Production began in 2023 and is ongoing.
