About the Gun

The Armscor-RIA 1911A1-45FS is a full-size, single-action 1911-style pistol patterned after the Colt Government Model. It has GI combat sights and smooth walnut grips. One variant is parkerized; the other is nickel-plated steel with a blade front and notched rear sight. It is a heavy, single-stack service 1911.

Analysis

The 1911A1-45FS was RIA’s early full-size Government pistol, the parent of the later GI Standard FS. Parkerized guns ran from 2001 until the name was dropped; nickel guns were listed through 2011. Current GI Standard FS pistols fill this slot at lower street prices. Used early FS guns sell in the same band as other 2000s Armscor Government pistols.
