Analysis

The GI Standard is Armscor’s volume 1911, a Series 70 Government copy in 4140 steel with GI sights and wood grips. Armscor acquired the Rock Island Armory name in 1985 and built these in Marikina, Philippines, with U.S. distribution from Nevada. Full-size, Commander (MS), Officer (CS), and a double-stack FS HC (A2) were cataloged. The parkerized full-size .45 remains the common new gun; nickel and two-tone GI finishes were earlier options. New street prices are often $320–$410; used guns commonly sell from the mid-$200s into the $400s.

The"Rock Island 1911 45 ACP" is a well-constructed,sporty and fun-shooting rebirth of the famed lengendary "Colt M1911 A1 45 ACP" of a "World Wars" storied past. There's nothing fancy about it but It's big, powerful, balanced, ergonomically designed and shoots sweetly! The sights are the fixed GI-version,yet adequately accurate to that respect. The RIA 1911 45 is a real keeper and true value for the price.I absolutely love and recommend this sidearm!
