About the Gun

The Arminius HW 9 is a medium-to-large, double-action/single-action sport revolver with a solid steel frame and a swing-out cylinder. It has a long barrel, a blade front sight and an adjustable rear sight, a blued finish, and wood grips. It is a heavy .22 LR target-style wheelgun on a larger frame than the HW 7.

Analysis

Weihrauch introduced the HW 9 in 1970 as a six-inch .22 LR sport revolver on a larger frame than the HW 3/5/7 series. Later Target Trophy Combat and Match versions added heavier barrels and match grips. Hermann Weihrauch still lists HW 9 and HW 9 Target Trophy models. U.S. used prices sit above the small Arminius rimfires because of the target configuration.
