About the Gun

The Arminius HW 38 is a medium-frame, double-action/single-action revolver with a solid steel frame and a six-shot swing-out cylinder. It has a blued finish, black plastic grips, and fixed blade-and-notch sights. Barrel lengths include a short snub and a mid-length service tube. It is a conventional .38 Special service-style wheelgun.

Production began in the early 1970s and is currently ongoing.

Analysis

Weihrauch added the HW 38 in the early 1970s as a six-shot .38 Special on the Arminius pattern. F.I.E. imported many U.S. guns as the Titan Tiger; EAA later took over Arminius import. The model remains in Hermann Weihrauch catalogs with several barrel lengths. American used examples are mostly 1970s–1990s imports and sell in the same inexpensive band as other Arminius service revolvers.
