About the Gun

The ArmaLite AR-24K is the compact, all-steel, hammer-fired DA/SA companion to the full-size AR-24. Frame and slide are CNC-machined from steel forgings with a manganese-phosphate and heat-cured epoxy finish. It has a frame-mounted manual safety, an internal firing-pin block, and a half-cock notch. Grips are checkered black polymer. One variant uses fixed sights; the other uses an adjustable rear sight. Magazine capacity is lower than the full-size gun.

Production ran from 2007 through 2013.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $630. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $350–$450.

Analysis

ArmaLite imported the AR-24K with the full-size AR-24 from 2007 through 2013. Both were Sarsilmaz Kilinç 2000 pistols built in Turkey to ArmaLite’s order. The K shortens the barrel and grip; catalog capacity is 13 rounds, with 10-round magazines on U.S. civilian guns. The Tactical Custom (adjustable-sight) compact used the same forged-steel construction. After 2013 the ArmaLite-marked guns left the U.S. catalog; the Turkish design continued under Sarsilmaz and later SAR USA labels.
