About the Gun

The ArmaLite AR-24 is a full-size, all-steel, hammer-fired DA/SA pistol in the CZ-75 pattern. The frame and slide are CNC-machined from steel forgings and finished in manganese phosphate with a heat-cured epoxy coat. It has a frame-mounted manual safety, an internal firing-pin block, and a half-cock notch. Grips are checkered black polymer. One variant uses fixed sights; the other uses an adjustable rear sight. It is a heavy, double-column service pistol.

Production ran from 2007 through 2013.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $550. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $300–$400.

Analysis

The AR-24 was ArmaLite’s first pistol, announced around 2007 after Mark Westrom contracted Sarsilmaz of Turkey to build a CZ-75-style gun to ArmaLite specifications. It is the U.S.-marked version of the Sarsilmaz Kilinç 2000. Civilian guns shipped with 10-round magazines; full-size capacity is 15 rounds. Import ran from 2007 through 2013. After ArmaLite dropped the line, Sarsilmaz continued the design, later sold in the United States by SAR USA as the SAR2000.
