About the Gun

The Arcus 95R is a medium-frame, double-action/single-action revolver of conventional Smith & Wesson-style layout, with a swing-out six-shot cylinder, blued steel frame and barrel, and black rubber grips. Sights are a blade front and an adjustable rear. This record is the four-inch .357 Magnum configuration. The factory also offered interchangeable barrel and cylinder sets so the same revolver could be set up for .38 Special, 9 mm, or 9x18 Makarov.

Analysis

Arcus added the 95R in 1995 as a police and civilian revolver alongside its Hi-Power-pattern pistols. The design is a standard side-swing, six-shot service revolver rather than an unusual mechanism, and the company advertised interchangeable barrels and cylinders for several 9 mm-class cartridges in addition to .357 Magnum. A U.S. introduction through Century Arms was discussed around 2004, but factory correspondence later indicated the revolvers were not being imported. Production is generally placed from 1995 through 2005. Surviving U.S. examples are uncommon, so pricing is thin and tends to follow other obscure mid-size steel .357 service revolvers rather than a deep auction record.
