About the Gun

The Arcus 94C is the compact, single-action companion to the full-size 94. It keeps the steel Hi-Power-style construction, squared trigger guard, three-dot combat sights, and the same blued or duo-tone finish options, but uses a shorter slide and a smaller overall footprint. Grip panels were offered in wrapped rubber, plastic, or walnut. Magazine capacity stays in the standard Hi-Power range rather than a shortened compact magazine, so the reduction is mainly in slide length and barrel rather than in grip height.

Production

Production ran from 1998 through 2008.

Analysis

The 94C was Arcus’s short-slide version of the 1994 Hi-Power copy, aimed at the same civilian and export market as the full-size 94 but with a more compact slide for holster and carry use. Mechanically it remains a single-action, locked-breech Browning-pattern pistol with a 13-round magazine. U.S. importation followed the same path as the 94, through Miltex and Century Arms, and Blue Book records place American availability in 1998–2000 and again 2003–2008. Like the full-size gun, it was later overshadowed by the double-action 98DA/98DAC family. Used examples trade in a thin market and are often mixed in listings with surplus 94 pistols.
