About the Gun

The GSG M1911 is a Government-size 1911-style single-action rimfire pistol with a zinc-alloy frame and slide, checkered walnut double-diamond grips, and a threaded barrel under a flush thread protector. It uses low-profile sights, an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety, and a skeletonized trigger and hammer.

Production began around 2019 and is currently ongoing.

MSRP is around $430. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $210–$280.

Analysis

American Tactical introduced the GSG M1911 in 2010 as the wood-grip Government .22 LR 1911 from German Sport Guns, timed to the 1911 centennial. The AD-OPS package with a rail and faux suppressor was cataloged beside it from the start. The action is blowback and is specified for high-velocity .22 LR. Tan and OD Green frames and a polished slide were added later as catalog finishes. A numbered 15th Anniversary run was a separate limited gun. The standard M1911 remains in the catalog. Used examples are common inexpensive rimfire 1911s and do not carry collector premium except on the limited anniversary guns.
