About the Gun

The FX Titan is a compact Officer-size 1911-style single-action pistol with an all-steel frame and slide, a short bull barrel, checkered mahogany grips, and Novak-pattern low-mount sights. It uses a skeletonized aluminum trigger, a beavertail grip safety, and a conventional thumb safety, with a shortened grip and magazine well sized for the compact magazine.

Production ran from 2010 through 2012.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $600. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $325–$425.

Analysis

American Tactical introduced the Firepower Xtreme 1911 line in mid-2010 as an entry-level family built by Shooters Arms Manufacturing in the Philippines. The FX Titan was the short Officer-size variant in that first group, a steel compact with a bull barrel and two-stage recoil spring rather than a GI clone. It was cataloged in .45 Auto only. The blued Titan left the line with the rest of the early steel FX guns around 2014 and returned for a second import window from 2017 through 2021; the nickel/stainless Titan closed after a short first run. Used examples trade in the same band as the FX GI and FX Military and remain working compact 1911s rather than collector pieces.
