About the Gun

The FX Military is a Government-size 1911-style single-action pistol with an all-steel blued frame and slide, checkered mahogany grips, fixed military-style sights, and an aluminum GI-pattern trigger. Rear slide serrations, slide stop, and thumb safety follow the service layout; the hammer is a knurled wide-spur type and the mainspring housing carries a lanyard loop in the early military manner.

Production ran from 2010 through 2022.

Market value

MSRP at production was around $500. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $300–$400.

Analysis

American Tactical introduced the Firepower Xtreme 1911 line in mid-2010 as an entry-level GI-styled family built by Shooters Arms Manufacturing in the Philippines. The FX Military was the full-size Government variant in that first group, sold as a plain Series 70 service copy rather than a railed or target gun. It shared lockwork and magazine pattern with the shorter FX GI and FX Titan and was cataloged only in .45 Auto on this model. Street prices stayed in the same band as other Philippine 1911s of the period. Regular importation ended in 2022 as American Tactical shifted its 1911 catalog toward the polymer-frame FXH hybrids and other sources. Used examples remain common as inexpensive Government 1911s and do not carry collector premium.
