About the Gun

The AF1911-S15 is a compact 1911-style pistol on a forged aluminum frame with integral grips and a bobtail mainspring housing. The slide and bull barrel are stainless steel with a black DLC finish. It is hammer-fired single action with an ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, and an accessory rail. It feeds Shield Arms S15 magazines and also accepts Glock 43X/48-pattern magazines. Iron-sight guns use Novak-pattern three-dot sights; later variants add an optic cut with tritium co-witness sights. A threaded barrel is part of the family.

Analysis

Alpha Foxtrot showed the S15 at SHOT Show 2022 and began shipping that year. The design exists to put 1911 controls and a single-action trigger on a grip that is slimmer than a conventional single-stack 1911 by using the Shield Arms S15 magazine developed for the Glock 43X/48. It is not the later steel-frame Romulus double-stack. Early guns were revised after the first run—bobtail housing, longer dust cover, and revised checkering—before the optic-cut and threaded-barrel variants joined the catalog.
