About the Gun

The AF1911 QPQ 80 Series is a full-size, single-stack 1911-style pistol with Series 80 lockwork, including a firing-pin block. Frame and slide are stainless steel with a black QPQ nitride finish. It uses a bull barrel, bobbed hammer, G10 grips, and Novak-pattern three-dot sights.

Analysis

Alpha Foxtrot introduced this pistol as the Series 80 safety version of its QPQ-finished Government 1911 in .45 Auto. The 80 Series name is the point of the model: a firing-pin block that the 70 Series guns do not use. QPQ Government pistols from the same Duluth shop were already selling by 2019, some with Magpul grips, before the later DLC 70 Series took the higher catalog slot. This SKU stayed the lower-priced nitride .45 Auto Government gun and was never given the compact, Commander, optic-cut, or threaded rows of the 70 Series. No service contract is recorded. New examples have been widely discounted, so the used market is mostly late production at closeout money rather than a collector run.
