Analysis

Accu-Tek introduced the BL-9 in 1997 as a different product from the single-action stainless AT-380 line: a black-finished, carbon-steel, double-action-only compact in 9 mm, shipped with two magazines and a lockable case. Production lasted only through 2002, before Excel Industries’ 2001 acquisition had time to recast the catalog around later stainless models. No military or agency contracts are recorded. Surviving examples are uncommon on the used market; owner reports from the period often mention feeding, ejection, and trigger problems, and factory support ended when Excel closed in 2023.
