About the Gun

The AREX Zero 2 S is a full-size, hammer-fired DA/SA service pistol with an aluminum frame and a steel slide. It is the second-generation Standard model. Wraparound polymer grip panels use a stippled texture, the magwell is beveled, and the magazine release is enlarged. Unlike the Zero 1, it has a separate decocking lever plus front and rear slide serrations. Sights are a white-dot front and a black notch rear. An accessory rail is machined into the dust cover.

Production began in 2022 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $800. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $450–$600.

Analysis

Arex introduced the Zero 2 in 2022 as a redesign of the Zero 1 rather than a parts update. The frame, wraparound grips, magazine release, and a dedicated decocker are new; the slide stop no longer doubles as a decocker. Capacity is 18 rounds. Recoil and other U.S. reviews appeared that year, with Global Ordnance as importer. List price at launch was about $849. Optics-ready Zero 2 S OR guns were cataloged later; this Standard record is the non-OR aluminum-frame service pistol.
