About the Gun

The AREX Zero 1 Tactical is a full-size, hammer-fired DA/SA service pistol built on a hard-anodized aluminum frame with a steel slide. It adds a threaded barrel, an optics-ready slide, and an extended magazine to the Zero 1 Standard layout. Controls are ambidextrous, the slide stop also decocks the hammer, and a loaded-chamber indicator is standard. The dust cover carries an accessory rail. Sights are white three-dot. Finishes include black, FDE, and gray.

Production began in 2017 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $805. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $400–$550.

Analysis

Arex followed the 2016 Zero 1 Standard with this Tactical version in 2017. The pistol keeps the SIG P226-inspired modified Browning, linkless, hammer-fired system and 7075 aluminum frame, then adds a threaded barrel, an optics plate, and a 20-round magazine for suppressor and duty use. FIME Group imported early guns; Global Ordnance later listed black and FDE examples. The later Zero 2 line revises the grip and separates the decocker, but the Zero 1 Tactical has remained in current catalogs.
