About the Gun

The AREX Zero 1 S is a full-size, hammer-fired DA/SA service pistol with a hard-anodized 7075 aluminum frame and a nitrocarburized steel slide cut from bar stock. The slide has forward cocking serrations, full-length rails, and a loaded-chamber indicator. The frame-mounted safety is ambidextrous, the magazine release is ambidextrous, and the slide stop doubles as a decocker. A full-length dust cover carries an integral accessory rail. Grips are textured black polymer. Finishes include black, FDE, OD green, and gray.

Production began in 2016 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $750. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $350–$550.

Analysis

The Standard model was the first U.S. Arex pistol, imported for the 2016 SHOT Show as an aluminum-frame alternative to the SIG P226 with a list price near $650. It uses 17-round steel magazines and a one-piece cold-hammer-forged barrel; Arex cited high endurance-test round counts before release. Compact and Tactical versions and the steel-frame Alpha followed from the same family. Import passed from FIME Group to Global Ordnance around 2020. The later Zero 2 S revises the grip and magazine release, but the original S remains listed. Used examples commonly sell from the high $200s into the low $500s depending on finish and extras.
