About the Gun

The AREX Zero 1 CP is the compact, hammer-fired DA/SA member of the Zero 1 series. It uses a hard-anodized 7075 aluminum frame, a steel slide machined from bar stock with forward cocking serrations, and a full-length dust cover with an accessory rail. Controls are ambidextrous, and the slide stop also decocks the hammer. A loaded-chamber indicator is standard. Most examples have textured polymer grips; some later guns were fitted with custom laminate panels. Finishes include black, FDE, OD green, gray, and nickel.

Production began in 2016 and is currently ongoing.

Market value

MSRP is around $650. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $390–$520.

Analysis

Arex introduced the Zero 1 family in 2015–2016 as a SIG P226-inspired duty pistol at a lower price and showed it at the 2016 SHOT Show. FIME Group imported the line from 2016 through 2019; Global Ordnance took over around 2020. The CP shortens the slide and grip relative to the Standard model and uses 15-round magazines. Operation is a modified Browning linkless system with a cold-hammer-forged barrel and a firing-pin block. The later Zero 2 revises the grip and magazine release, but the Zero 1 CP has remained in current catalogs. Used prices sit well below the original mid-$600 list.
