About the Cartridge

This cartridge was introduced in the United States along with the Browning-designed, Colt manufactured 'Vest Pocket' pistol. Also referred to as the 6.35mm Browning, this semi-rimmed centerfire cartridge has fairly high velocity for such a small size. However, the energy it delivers at any range is quite low. This, combined with the full metal jacketed bullet, adds up to a very poor stopping or killing power on anything. The .25 ACP is not powerful enough for hunting anything but pests, nor is it adequate for serious self defense. However, the .25 auto caliber pistols are popular because of their small size and low cost.

Have many and they are great for a 25acp pistol
By JKnicker on 09 Dec 2023
I have several Raven pistols from the first generation to the Phoenix made version. When properly cared for (like any firearm) I have found them to be easy shooting and very accurate for the FBI standard of 21ft, though the "chrome" finish models are more difficult to aim in bright lighting with reflective surfaces on the sights. They are very easy to clean, and surprisingly reliable considering their low cost. For someone who cannot afford a larger caliber pistol, this is a great concealed carry option.

Just Bought My 2nd One
By X-Raycer on 02 Jul 2023
My Chrome MP-25 has been such a great little shooter I just bought a pristine unfired gun in the Polished Blue for $128. The only downside to these little gems is the price of the ammo.

Great Little Guns
By JKnicker on 15 Apr 2022
I own several Ravens. I have one from each generation. They are easy to fire, very accurate for self-defense distances (5 to 21 feet) and break down easily for cleaning. They are not meant to use hollow point cartridges due to the weaknesses inherent in 25acp. I have shot several brands of FMJ through these and haven't had any problems. But then again, I clean all my guns regularly. Trigger pull is reasonable. Recoil is next to 22lr. I know Zamak is not meant to last forever. I only wish they made all steel models. Stainless would be fantastic.

Forgotten

First gun i ever bought, still have it somewhere, never had a jam or fail with any ammo. It's not accurate very far or powerful but it's tiny and always worked. No its not great but it's great for what it is, cheap small better than nothing. =]

Cheap but gets the job done.
By Txmoto on 01 Dec 2020
At one time this was the only gun I had available AT THAT TIME. It's the closest I ever came to actually shooting someone. Thankfully it didn't get that far. As other people have pointed out, it's junk, not accurate, but it still gets the job done. I'd rather have this little piece of junk when I need a gun, than NO gun. Mine has worked flawlessly with not one jam.

25 cal Raven
By webb on 14 Aug 2020
The one I have looks like the Raven, but is manufactured by American Firearms in Texas. Only really good for making noise...but I like it.

I have one
By gunslinger86 on 23 Jul 2020
I haven't looked at this site in a long time and it's weird to see a strange little gun I have as the most viewed thing this month. It has worked fine each time I've shot it, btw.

The Wonder of Zamak
By X-Raycer on 13 May 2020
This little BUG has never had a failure in the hundreds of different brand of rounds I've put through it in the last five years. Shooting with my 14 year old Grandson last week, we both nailed two mags into 3" Shoot n See targets at 16 feet. They key word with this Defensive Handgun is... Headshot.

Complete junk
By RunninNgunnin on 24 Jan 2020
It is my experience and opinion these brand pistols are junk. I've had a few and none have been reliable and very inaccurate. These two reasons alone at why I would NEVER trust my life or my family's life with these junkers. They may be ok for plinking at the range but that's all. Highly recommend NOT buying one for self defense. To top it off, the pistol hates defensive rounds like hill points...

Small, light, not accurate beyond 30ft,good for truck gun, short term defense, shoots every time, easy clean, worth at least$100 if in good condition
