About the Gun

This series of pistols is known for their unique tip-up barrel. It is pinned at the front of the frame so that it can be released by rotating a safety catch. The breech can then be raised clear of the slide, allowing the barrel to be cleaned, or chamber loaded, the barrel closed and the gun fired.

About the Cartridge

Initially introduced in Europe, this semi-rimmed centerfire cartridge came to the United States when Colt introduced its 'Pocket Model' semiautomatic pistol. But it has been an extremely popular caliber, notably by the fact that practically all minor and major manufacturers of autoloading handguns in the world have built millions of small pocket autoloaders in .32 Auto.
